Ken Strode - Filmmaker

"For me, it all started when I was 6 years old - shooting my first 12 exposure roll of BW film through an old, sometimes malfunctioning, cartridge style instamatic camera.  Even at that early age I loved the IDEA of photography, and was amazed with the concept of 'capturing a moment' onto film."

"I began my exploration into photography with my first "real" camera in my late teens and early 20s - with an at the time many decades old Exakta 35mm SLR (exactly like the one Jimmy Stewart used in the movie Rear Window) - A gift from my loving Grandmother to help give her free spirit grandson some direction in life."

“I began working professionally in the industry way back during the Dark Ages known as the early 1990s - Creating and running my own businesses as well as working with and for other well established studios, photographers and filmmakers. I consider myself lucky in that I started out during what we refer to as the “Good Old Film Days” where knowing your craft was paramount for success.”

“Back then “valuable" lessons learned actually impacted your pocketbook with the cost of film so you had to understand your equipment inside and out and each exposed frame was precious. I still carry that same “film style” approach to my filmmaking today.”

“I paid my school tuition in the form of Fuji and Kodak slide film.”

“I now work as a independent filmmaker in both documentaries as well as scripted productions. I’m in Love with Visual Storytelling and enjoy creating my own films as well as helping others find their voice in their own productions.”

“I have to say, I Love what I do.”

Rest assured - “I’m just as committed to quality when shooting a $3 ‘poop trowel’ as a $5 million dollar aircraft. Your product matters to you, and that is what matters to me.”
